Representatives of California's produce trucking industry are invited to a special
conference slated for April 15 in Monterey, California.
A team of researchers from the Center for Agricultural Business and the U.S. Department of
Agriculture are conducting the conference in order to examine problems the industry faces
and work together to propose solutions.
A research effort led by Fresno State agricultural economics professor John Hagen was
sparked last year following reports of increasing economic troubles in the industry. The
research consisted of an extensive survey of shippers, truckers and receiving firms.
A report of the results will be given at the conference. For available details, see
Announcement and Events. Dr. Hagen may be contacted at (559) 278-3044.
